Autumn

Autumn, Fall, sweatpant season…whatever you want to call it, it’s my absolute favorite season. Autumn in New England is a sight that is truly breathtaking. The leaves slowly change from green to shades of red and orange before they cover the sidewalks, getting crunched by every step we take. Not only is the foliage beautiful but the crisp air and atmosphere in its entirety is what makes autumn my favorite season. I’ve gathered up just a few reasons why I absolutely adore it, and hopefully this will make you fall in love (get it?) with Fall too!

If you live anywhere near the Boston area then I’m sure you’ve heard of The Topsfield Fair. The Topsfield Fair is a tradition that I have taken part in since I was younger. My parents used to take me and my sister every year until we were old enough to go with our friends, and now my friends and I go every year that we can. Playing carnival games, going on rides, eating candy apples and judging decorated pumpkins are all little things that add up to one amazing yearly experience– Β I can’t wait to go this year!

Apple picking is an autumn MUST! The orchards here in New England are amazing and this is another tradition that I have been taking part in ever since I can remember. There is something about crisp air and apple orchards that generate a warm feeling of fall.Β I am so excited for apple picking this year- I’ve decided to actually bake with my apples which is something I have never done before so it will be an interesting experience for sure. I’ve been searching Pinterest for delicious apple recipes and I’m looking forward to trying some out!

The clothes during the autumn months are definitely my favorite. Layers are a blessing and we all should take advantage of this. Cool in the morning, warm in the afternoon and chilly at night; you can have one outfit that transforms throughout the day, thanks to layers! My fall staples are leggings, skinny jeans, flannels, vests, riding boots and bean boots. All of these basics are super affordable and can be styled in so many ways!

I don’t know about you, but I am obsessed with candles. I always buy some when I am shopping wandering around target aimlessly. My other favorite place to buy candles is Bath and Body Works because of their amazing seasonal scents. Their fall scents are always the best and this year did not disappoint. To avoid spending my entire pay check on candles, I decided to pace myself and only buy two which was harder than one would think… I decided on the scents of ‘Sweater Weather’ and ‘Autumn’ and the containers have cute little animals on them which is an added seasonal bonus! Both candles smell amazing and I am without a doubt going to need to go back and buy more before the winter holidays roll around!

hello autumn

  • Here in NC, visiting Pumpkin farms is a must-do during the Fall. I have not taken my family apple picking, yet. I will have to give it a try this year. <3

  • Great post! I like the way you write. Fall used to be the season I hated the worse growing up (summer was over) but as an adult – NOTHING is better than fall. Pumpkin spice… everything.

Thank you for the work put into your post.

    Happy Monday.

Thank you, Megan! I used to hate it too because summer was always the best for me. But as you get older things change, including favorite seasons! πŸ™‚
      Have a great week!

  • There is nothing like fall in New England! It’s one of the reasons I don’t think I’ll ever be able to live outside the Northeast, haha. Have you been to the Big E in Agawam? It’s my favorite fair and it’s amazing – I highly recommend it if you haven’t been!

    Great post!

    • It is amazing here! I haven’t heard of The Big E… but I’m looking it up now! Thanks, Sarah!

      • I grew up in CT, so it’s my version of Topsfield. The state food alone is enough of a reason to go! I took my Midwestern boyfriend for the first time last year and he was blown away!

Wow! It looks super fun! I will have to see if I have a free weekend to go and check it out!
