Weekend Getaway: NYC

The one thing I have noticed since joining "the real world" is that weekends are sacred, and that mini-vacations are necessary. When one of my friends invited me to visit her in NYC, I booked a flight and had myself a little weekend getaway. My friend Erika is currently in NYC for school, so it was a perfect opportunity to spend some time with her, and see New York. It was my first time truly spending time in New York that wasn't just driving through or having a layover in the airport. Since it was my first time, we tried to fit as much as possible in the 48 hours that I was there. This was obviously a difficult task since New York is huge, and there's an endless amount of things to do, sights to see, and places to eat.During the two days we visited a couple brunch spots in SoHo (Jack's Wife Freda, 12 Chairs), went to Eataly, Cha Cha Matcha, Frozen Sweet, Rockefeller Center, The Met, Central Park (had a Gossip Girl mini tour!), Times Square, Flatiron, The Plaza... You get the idea. We were B U S Y!Walking through Central Park was definitely a highlight for me. We walked a bit through the Upper East Side, I took a picture on the steps of The Met, and then we walked through Central Park. I love Gossip Girl, so it was cool to see the spots from the show, like where Chuck and Blair got married ~insert heart eye emoji here~. We also stopped to watch a performance in the park and it was not only cool to watch the guys do tricks and jump over people, but they were also hilarious.I was also very eager to go to the top of Rockefeller Center, and it was worth it. The views were breathtaking and it was a great way to end my weekend in New York.I really just loved walking around and taking everything in. New York is very different than any city I've traveled to, and it's truly an amazing city.It was one of the best weekends I have had in a while. I got to go somewhere new and enjoy so many new things. I took A LOT of photos, which you can check out on my Instagram, and you can also check some out below. IMG_9758IMG_9736IMG_9742IMG_9738IMG_9740IMG_9761IMG_9786IMG_9787IMG_9789IMG_9785IMG_9762IMG_9286IMG_9680IMG_9757IMG_9759IMG_9760Have you ever been to NYC? What are your favorite places?!
